Who owns the key, owns the asset
Digital assets are records on a blockchain, accessible only with a private key. Whoever holds the key controls the asset. If the key is lost, access is gone forever. If stolen, the assets can be transferred instantly and irreversibly. Because blockchain transactions are irreversible and no central party can restore access, custody requires the highest institutional security standards.
