Somewhere in a folder on our server, there are forty columns. Written in 2021, during a year when the crypto space was celebrated and attacked from all sides. At one end of the spectrum, speculators were eager to mine the new digital gold. At the other, sceptics dismissed bitcoin as a pyramid scheme or a joke not worth taking seriously. Amdax decided to be the counterweight. Not by shouting louder, but by saying something more useful. That is how the Aldus Amdax was born.

Between buzz and noise

Anyone who flicks through those forty columns can see how fast the space has moved in five years. Hypes flared up and died down just as quickly. China banned bitcoin for the umpteenth time, El Salvador embraced it. NFTs exploded and imploded. And yet, through all the noise, the thread held. Bitcoin has not died an inglorious death. If anything, the network keeps growing and the fundamental questions about our monetary system are more urgent than ever.

A balanced voice

The world of crypto assets has grown larger and more relevant than we could have anticipated in 2021. Finding a balanced perspective in the noise of mainstream media remains difficult. But the need for one is real: our clients need clear information to make informed decisions. An honest story, beyond the screaming headlines. So here we are again, with a fortnightly Aldus Amdax, written by people who work in the crypto space every day.

A point of view, not a dogma

Every edition of the Aldus Amdax is rooted in that space. It connects to a current development, a persistent misconception, a concept that deserves explanation, or simply something we noticed and want to share. We allow ourselves an opinion and do not shy away from discussion. We write from a point of view, but not from a dogma. Because while we remain convinced of the value that digital assets bring to the future of our financial system, we are far from blind to the risks and the complexity.

The crypto market deserves better analysis than it usually gets. That is what we are here to provide. Sometimes you will agree with us. Other times it will rub you the wrong way. Good. That is exactly the kind of dialogue we are looking for.

Welcome back.
